Formational, Relational
Art Making & Engagement

Many artists struggle to thrive,
despite the vast promotional opportunities of the Internet Age.
What they need most are not platforms or packaged education, but rather, people –
People they can trust to listen with curiosity, guide wisely, critique with care, and celebrate and affirm with genuine understanding of who they are as creative people.
Artists need mentors.
Through our FRAME Arts Mentorship Program, POIEO Centre facilitates the establishment of mentoring relationships that provide technical, creative, spiritual, and relationship support to artists looking to gain confidence, break out of isolation, and flourish in their vocation.
HOW IT WORKS
1
FRAME recruits, equips, and supports mentors
We seek out artists who have the experience, skill, and capacity to provide mentoring and then provide them with the guidance and infrastructure needed to establish strong relationships with emerging artists. Mentors receive financial compensation through POIEO Centre.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor in our program, please fill out this brief get-to-know-you form or contact us with questions at hello@poiecentre.ca. We’d love to have a conversation with you.
2
FRAME connects artists
to mentors
We receive applications from mentees and pair selected artists based on fittedness. Mentees invest in this formation with their time, energy, and a fee that is subsidized by POIEO Centre, a registered charity in Canada. Applications for 2023 will open in December – come back soon for more information.
3
FRAME promotes the creative projects that emerge from mentoring relationships
We host public showcases of the work produced through FRAME mentorship. This is an annual celebration that takes place in the spring. Subscribe to the POIEO Centre newsletter and follow us on Instagram to ensure you don’t miss out on this wonderful event.
