POIEO FILM PROJECT

CONNECTING FAITH + ART

What is the Poieo Film Project?

The Poieo Film Project consists of three film series:

2
LITURGY CARE
FILM SERIES
explores the value of the arts in Christian worship.
3
CULTURE CARE
FILM SERIES
unfolds the theological significance and missional practices of the arts in culture.

This Poieo Film Project will be an inspiring resource

for artists and church leaders.

What’s the current status of the project?

Three pilot episodes are currently in development.

  • The Artist Care Series pilot is based on original content by Dr. Craig Detweiler (President of Wedgwood Circle).

  • The Liturgy Care Series pilot is based on original content by Dr. Michael J. Bauer (Kansas University).

  • The Culture Care Series pilot is based on "Through Dance: Fully Human, Fully Alive" by Dr. Sara Savage (University of Cambridge), in Beholding the Glory: Incarnation through the Arts (Baker, 2001), edited by Dr. Jeremy Begbie (Duke University).

What a cinematically stunning presentation of each genre of art! This is a cinematic sensation that reveals the cultural significance of the arts aesthetically and theologically. Each episode is a masterpiece. Now I see how each small act of artmaking contributes to the common good. This resource is a must-see for every creative person who cares about culture.
